I couldn't have asked for a better stay at this hotel. The rooms are even bigger and cleaner than what the pictures on the website show, and they had everything I needed. They are spacious by Japanese standards, immaculately clean, have all necessary comforts, and even though we were right in the heart of the Gion district, it was absolutely quiet both day and night. Perfect for four people with two comfortable double beds. The service was always excellent, particularly when it came to providing the latest information regarding typhoons and being very helpful overall. The location is ideal for tourists wishing to visit temples and shrines and explore all the sights of Kyoto. The dining was good with a set menu that was delicious, suitable for both western and Japanese guests, though it could have had more flexibility and fresh fruit choices. The facilities were top-notch, and I can confidently say this place is great value for money.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Kyoto! The rooms had an olden day feel to the place and were extremely spacious, perfect for a family of 4. The staff spoke English well and were incredibly helpful, especially the manager who shared great insights about the area and top tourist spots. The location was spot on, close to temples, restaurants, and much more. However, the dining options were a little underwhelming, even though the atmosphere was cozy and new.

The hotel was situated perfectly, allowing us easy access on foot to the Geisha district, Pontocho Alley, river walks, and Nishiki market. The rooms were beautifully decorated with super comfortable beds and the best shower pressure, making our stay very cozy. The staff was incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to arrange taxis, recommend great dining spots, and even taking us on a memorable walking tour of Gion. However, the only downside was not being close to public transport.
